Promoting outstanding research and education at Kühne Logistics University

KLU Academic Foundation

The KLU Academic Foundation

is an incorporated foundation based in Hamburg, Germany.

The foundation’s objectives are to promote outstanding research and education, and to provide financial support to students of Kühne Logistics University (KLU), founded in 2010 in Hamburg.

As a university foundation, it utilizes its resources to support specific research areas and individual outstanding researchers at KLU in the fields of logistics, management and supply chain management. It particularly focuses on initiatives supporting young academics and the KLU student body.

In order to pursue its work, the Academic Foundation relies on the generous financial support of private patrons, firms and other foundations.

We support outstanding sustainability research.

With the Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains (CSLS), founded in 2020, KLU is making pioneering contributions to research and education on the “green transformation” of the economy. With financial backing from Kühne+Nagel, the CSLS serves as an international hub for sustainability, bringing together the scientific community, business, and society at large. We support outstanding students.

Year after year, we support KLU students characterized by top performance, social commitment or special financial needs with the so called Deutschlandstipendium. Every “Germany Scholarship” awarded requires a private donation, which is then matched using public funding – so that even a modest donation can make a real difference.

People rowing dragon boat

We support watersport activities within the KLU Community.

Since the summer of 2018, it can regularly be seen underway at Hamburg’s Außenalster: our dragon boat “ONE FOR ALL,” generously donated by the Pollmann Stiftung, offers KLU students and staff the chance to uniquely experience the city from the water – and a memorable time together, whether it’s casual paddling about or competing in the dragon boat regatta.
